Fireflies Weekly

Hello Firefly Families!

This week we learned about colors! We did a lot of mixing using primary colors and discovered new colors we could make using red, blue and yellow! We also worked on sorting colors, patterning, taking turns during our colorful "Gumball Game" and went on a color scavenger hunt around our room. We read the books Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?, Little Blue, Little Yellow, Mix It Up! and Mixed-A Colorful Story. Our letter of the week was H.

Color Song:

Orange is a carrot

Yellow is a pear

Green is the grass

Brown is a bear

Purple is a plum

Blue is the sky

Black is a bat and

Red is cherry pie

Reminders:

*Please bring in an apple (or two!) sometime this week for our 2 week apple unit! Any kind or color will do ;)

*If you know your child does not rest, feel free to send in a quiet activity for rest time for them to do on their mat (i.e. coloring book, small/quiet toy, etc)

Hello Firefly Families!

This week our focus was "All About Me". We created self portraits, traced our names in paint, did a name graph to see who had the most letters in their name, wrote about what we liked about ourselves in our journals, and made body creations. We read the books We're Different, We're the Same, Chrysanthemum, Happy In Our Skin and I Like Me! and our HWT letter of the week was E.
