Fireflies Weekly: April 8th - 11th, 2024: Planting!

Hello Firefly Families!

This week we learned all about the life cycle of a plant, how a seed grows, the parts of a flower and what plants need to grow. We planted our own grass seeds to watch them sprout and grow, sequenced the plant life cycle, cut out and glued the parts of a plant, responded to the journal prompt, "What's Growing in Your Garden?", and are doing an experiment with beans, a wet papertowel and a baggie taped on the window--will it grow? We reviewed the letters L, M, N & O in HWT. We watched BrainPop Jr. videos on the plant life cycle and parts of a plant and we also read the books Grow Flower, Grow!, One Bean, Planting Seeds and Curious George Plants a Seed. Our favorite song for the week was this one, they had so much fun with it! It really helped them learn the parts of a plant and what it needs to grow.

LECC's Passport Day is on Saturday, April 20th from 10:00am - 12:00pm! Come see different LECC families come together to share their culture! There will be fun displays to see and some yummy food to try! We will be accepting RSVP's past 4/12 but please RSVP as soon as you can!
