Fireflies Weekly: September 22nd - 26th, 2025: Apples (Week 2!)

Happy Friday, Firefly Families!

This week we completed our apple unit. We read Apple Picking Day, Peppa Goes Apple Picking, The Biggest Apple Ever and Apple Pie Tree. We played with apple pie playdough, stamped apples using red, green and yellow paint, finished our apple measuring class book, learned how to make Mat Man and drew him in our journals and did an ABC apple hunt around our classroom. Our favorite part of the week was making yummy cinnamon applesauce together (and then sequencing the recipe)! Our HWT letter of the week was I.

The Little Appleseed Poem (to the tune of Itsy Bitsy Spider)

First a little appleseed

was planted in the ground.

Down came the raindrops

falling all around.

Out came the sun

bright as bright could be.

And that little appleseed

grew up to be an apple tree!
