Hello Firefly Families!
We started out our week celebrating HALLOWEEN! It was so fun seeing all of our friends in their costumes. We also made mummies and painted our pumpkins from the pumpkin patch! After Halloween, we started talking about the season of FALL and all the changes that it brings. We watercolored leaves for our classroom seasons tree using red, yellow and orange. We went on a fall nature walk to see what we could use to create a fall sensory bin and wrote in our journals about what we found. We also created fall trees using paint and sponges. We read the books Where's My Mummy?, The Night Before Halloween, We're Going On a Leaf Hunt, and Awesome Autumn. The new character word for November is RESPONSIBLE and our HWT letter this week was G.
Fall Leaves (sung to the tune of "London Bridge")
All the leaves are falling down,
falling down, falling down.
All the leaves are falling down,
orange, yellow, red and brown.
If you listen you'll hear them say,
hear them say, hear them say.
If you listen you'll hear them say,
"Winter time is on its way." (whisper)
