Hello Firefly Families!
We had a fun week in the Firefly classroom! We used droppers with water colors to make paper towel leaves, responded to the journal prompt, "What happens during the fall?", went on an ABC acorn hunt around our room, played a "roll, add and cover" dice game with acorns, cut out and created triangle trees and we matched numeral to quantity with our number leaf tree books. We also celebrated Veteran's Day by making red, white and blue pattern crowns and decorating a big American Flag. We also went on a parade with the rest of the LECC to celebrate our LECC Veterans! Thank you to all of our brave Veterans! We read the books The Leaf Thief, Veteran's Day, Little Acorn, and Leaf Trouble along with some learning videos about Veteran's Day. Our HWT letter this week was J.
Fall Leaves (sung to the tune of "London Bridge")
All the leaves are falling down,
falling down, falling down.
All the leaves are falling down,
orange, yellow, red and brown.
If you listen you'll hear them say,
hear them say, hear them say.
If you listen you'll hear them say,
"Winter time is on its way." (whisper)
