Hi Firefly Parents!
This week we focused on LOVE and Valentine's Day! We made valentine play dough, painted and decorated valentine frames for our parents, made our own heart lacing cards by cutting them out/punching holes/lacing with yarn, practiced our positional words in a mini book, responded to the journal prompt, "How do you show LOVE to a friend?", cut out hearts and decorated them into valentines at the writing center, and played a heart matching/memory game with friends. Our HWT letter was V and we read the books Love Makes a Family, The I Love You Book, The Best Thing About Valentines and Somebody Loves You Mr. Hatch.
Reminders:
*Please send in 16 VALENTINES so that we can distribute them next week for Valentine's/Friendship Day! We will be making valentine bags here at school. Just have your Firefly sign each one for some writing practice, but please do not address them to any particular friend--this just helps simplify the passing out process. ;)
*Firefly Valentine Party: Wednesday, February 14th @ 11 AM. All are welcome to attend, but we understand everyone is busy and might not make it!
*NO SCHOOL! Monday, February 19th for President's Day
