Happy Friday, Firefly Families!
This week we learned about arctic/antarctic habitats and what animals live in them. We played with arctic animals in real shaved ice, cut out and painted igloos, responded to the journal prompt, "How does your mommy/daddy take care of you?" (we learned about how daddy penguins are the main care-giver of penguin chicks), played a penguin beginning sounds matching game and color matching game, finished an emergent reader book on arctic animals, and we also went on a scavenger hunt around the school looking for arctic animals. Lots of fun this week! Our HWT letter of the week was N and we read the books Arctic Animals For Kids, The Emperor's Egg, Penguins (Nat Geo Kids) and we watched a few videos on the arctic/antarctic habitats & animals.
